Introduction

TTSLark ("we", "our platform") turns text into speech. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, how the text you paste and the audio we generate are handled, how long we keep them, and which third parties are involved. It applies to ttslark.com and to the files we produce for you. We do not sell personal information.

What we collect and why

  • Account data. When you sign in with Google or a magic link, we store the email address and display name the provider gives us, plus the sign-in method and time. Passwords are not used on the public site.
  • Scripts you submit. The text you paste into the generator is stored with the job so that the audio and subtitle files can be produced, retried if a step fails, and shown back to you in My Speech.
  • Generated files. The MP3 or WAV audio, the SRT and WebVTT subtitle files, and any per-part files for a job are stored so that you can download them during the retention period below.
  • Usage and credits. We keep a ledger of credits granted and spent, the size of each job, and the voice and speed you chose. This is how the free allowance and paid plans are enforced and how we investigate a failed job.
  • Payment records. Subscriptions and credit packs are processed by Stripe. We receive the plan, amount, date, and a customer reference; card numbers never reach our servers.
  • Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, request time) are kept for security and abuse prevention. Free previews on voice pages are rate-limited per IP address.
  • Feedback and support messages. If you email us or use the feedback form, we keep the message and your reply address for as long as the conversation is open, and for our records afterwards.

How your scripts and audio are processed

  • Standard voices are generated by speech-synthesis software running on infrastructure we operate. Your text goes to that service only to be read aloud; it is not used to train any model.
  • Premium voices, when offered, are generated by a third-party cloud speech provider. Only the text of the job is sent, along with the voice and speed settings, and only for jobs where you have chosen a premium voice.
  • Tidy up script is optional. When you click it, the text of your script is sent to a third-party AI model provider to detect readings and formatting, and the suggested version is returned to you. Nothing is sent unless you click the button.
  • Voice blends combine two voices inside the same synthesis service; no additional party is involved.
  • Generated files are stored with a cloud object-storage provider. Download links are signed and expire, so a link cannot be reused after it has run out.

Retention and deletion

  • Free plan: job text, audio, and subtitle files are deleted 72 hours after the job completes.
  • Paid plans: job text, audio, and subtitle files are kept for 30 days after the job completes, then deleted.
  • Voice samples and blend previews on voice pages are fixed demonstration clips generated from our own sample sentences, not from user text, and are kept indefinitely.
  • Account and ledger records are kept while your account exists. Deleting your account removes your profile and pending jobs; financial records that we must keep for tax and accounting purposes are retained for the legally required period.
  • Expired jobs are removed by an automatic cleanup that runs continuously; a job that has expired can no longer be downloaded or retried.

Third-party services

We use a small number of providers, each for one purpose:

  • Stripe for subscriptions and credit-pack payments.
  • Google for sign-in, if you choose it.
  • An email delivery provider for magic-link sign-in and account emails.
  • A cloud object-storage provider for generated files.
  • A cloud speech provider for premium voices, only when a premium voice is selected.
  • An AI model provider for the optional Tidy up script feature.
  • Privacy-friendly analytics, if enabled, that count page views without cookies and without identifying you.

Each provider receives only what its task requires and is bound by its own privacy terms.

Data Storage and Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

  • All payment information is processed through secure payment processors like Stripe; we do not directly store complete payment card details
  • We use SSL/TLS encryption to protect data transmission
  • We regularly review our information collection, storage, and processing practices, including physical security measures

International Data Transfers

We may process and store your personal information globally, including in countries outside your country of residence. In such cases, we will take appropriate measures to ensure your personal information receives adequate protection.

Cookie Policy

We use cookies and similar technologies to collect information and improve your experience. Cookies are small text files placed on your device that help us provide a better user experience.

The types of cookies we use include:

  • Necessary Cookies: Essential for the basic functionality of the website, including authentication and session management
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with the website through Google Analytics, Plausible Analytics, and Baidu Analytics

Our services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you discover that we may have collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us, and we will promptly take steps to delete that information.

Your choices and rights

You can download or delete your generated files from My Speech at any time before they expire, change or cancel a subscription from your account, and stop using Tidy up script or premium voices without affecting the rest of the service. You can ask us to export or delete the personal data we hold about you by writing to the address in Contact Us; we answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with data-protection law, you have the rights that law provides, including the right to complain to your supervisory authority.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page with a new effective date. Changes that reduce your rights or expand what we collect will be announced on the site before they take effect.
